I'm the co-founder of Chaotic Good Tempeh. I spent 15 years as a chef in fine dining and farm to table restaurants, during which time I fell in love with fermentation. Sauerkraut and Kim Chi led to kombucha and jun, and to miso and koji, but I never liked tempeh; that is until we pulled our first batch of homemade tempeh from the bottom rack of a thrift store dehydrator. The fluffy white mycelium and the scent, a combination of fresh bread and unctuous mushrooms, captivated me. It was nothing like the soggy brown bricks we had bought at the grocery store. It was then that we decided to bring this magical food to the masses.

My passion for fermented foods grew as I became interested in nutritious cooking. I began travelling soon after graduating college and worked on farms in the states, worked as a natural foods cook, lived abroad in Taiwan as an English teacher, studied yoga and herbalism. Tempeh is exciting to me because the supreme health benefits and versatility, and it is so fun to experiment with in the kitchen! Now that our family is growing, I'm excited to incorporate tempeh into delicious, healthy meals for our children.
